Biological Activity:

Ketanserin is a drug for 5 - HT receptor blocking, and it is selective blocking for the 5HT2 receptor, moreover, it does some weak antagonism toα and H receptor. To Hypertensive patients, Ketanserin can lower the the perivascular resistance, significant effect on Renal vascular, at the same time, it has no antihypertensive effect in normal subjects. It also be used to discriminate between 5-HT1Dand 5-HT1B receptor subtypes.
