Biological Activity:

Antitumor agent that forms platinum-DNA adducts. Causes intra- and interstrand DNA crosslinks blocking DNA replication and transcription. Displays higher cytotoxicity and lower nephrotoxicity than analog cisplatin and shows antitumor activity in cell lines with acquired cisplatin resistance.
